BRIEF HISTORY OF FOUNDER'S CYCLING EXPERIENCE
I've been riding bikes for most of my life: starting on a tricycle as a child, I then taught myself to cycle a two wheel bike. As a teenager, I cycled to school by bike, I cycled extensively throughout Norfolk (which contrary to popular belief is not flat) with the CTC and a school friend. We toured Suffolk, the Peak District, Wales, the Channel Islands and France and competed in time trials with the Norfolk Road Club. I continued cycling at University both to get around the town and in the Unversity Cycle Team. I then commuted by bike for several years in London before moving to Oxfordshire. Using a bike is by far the best way to get about Oxford. Having watched the Brompton World Championships at Blenheim, I acquired a Brompton folding bike, rode this in a sponsored ride from London to Paris and competed in in the Brompton World Championships for several years. An interest in new technlogy then led me to buy an early e-bike conversion kit for my hybrid bike so I rapidly became an advocate for electric assist bikes (and acquired another one some years later and used this to commute across Oxford for several years). This and the Brompton continue to be my main forms of transport in and around Oxford, sometimes now with the addition of a box trailer or a bicycle transporter trailer.

Member of British Cycling, qualified Ride Leader, First Aid Certificate, Advanced DBS clearance, Safeguarding Certificate, founding volunteer of Wheels for All - Oxford, Cycling Projects Inclusive Cycling Leader certificates (2012 and 2019), Leader and club secretary of Wheels for All - Oxford from 2019, trustee and membership secretary of Cyclox, mobile mechanic insurance, lifelong cyclist, and e-bike rider since 2007
